Neil Couvillion
An up-and-coming singer/songwriter with 15 years of songwriting under his belt and boxes full of lyrics to show for it, Neil Couvillion has now come of age with his debut album Time Machine. Recorded with the help of some great musicians and friends, his sound has been described as a mix between Patty Griffin and David Gray.
Born in Louisiana and raised in Mississippi, Neil is the middle child of 5. When Neil was 12 years old, his father died suddenly. Neil turned to music and songwriting to help him deal with this tragic loss. He credits his mother, 3 brothers and little sister for supporting him, keeping him grounded and fostering his musical talent.
His love of music started with a set of drumsticks in junior high and gradually progressed to the guitar and songwriting. Early influences include the Pixies, Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Ryan Adams and Patty Griffin. Neil currently resides in Birmingham, AL but frequently plays in his hometown of Starkville, MS and in many locations throughout the southeast.
